In 2008 I had the unique opportunity to spend time with the performers and animals of Lennon Bros Circus, one of the last circus’ in Australia to still have lions in their show. With an increasing number of municipal councils banning circus’ which include exotic animals, Lennon Bros represent the last of dying breed of entertainment.

Semi-retired taxidermist, Gary Barnsley, once produced work for the booming Australian film industry, anglers, private collectors and museums. He takes enormous pride in his creations, however, with few people keen to take on learning this craft, taxidermy is a dying art form
Toogoolawa – A place in the heart
Toogoolawa school offers boys who have not been able to settle in the state school system an opportunity for education and mentoring. Thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the staff, these young men, aged from 9 – 16 years, are offered a second chance at their education and given valuable life skills.
